Trust & legal / child safety

Child safety,
without claims.

Harbor Family is designed for guardians who want a clear place to draft and review family policy settings.

Guardian-controlled use

The desktop control plane is intended for a guardian to configure. It has no child account, social features, direct messaging, public profile, or hosted child-facing service.

What it does today

The source preview lets a guardian create, validate, save, review, and export a local policy. It can match app names discovered on the same computer while a guardian configures an app rule.

While Harbor is running, configured bedtime and daily limits can trigger an in-app full-screen lock that requires guardian PIN to grant a temporary unlock window.

What it does not do today

The current release does not provide global OS-level app blocking, DNS/web filtering, purchase enforcement, location tracking, or remote monitoring. A policy choice in the app is not automatically a device-wide safety control.

Guardians remain responsible for choosing and checking the safeguards that fit their household and devices. See Enforcement limitations for the complete current boundary.
